West Slavic language closely related to
Slovak, Polish,
and the Sorbian languages of eastern Germany. It is spoken in the historical
regions of Bohemia, Moravia, and southwestern Silesia in the Czech Republic,
where it is the official language. Czech is written in the Roman (Latin)
alphabet.
